Cathy T. Larrimore, MD has dedicated her life to service. She was born in Illinois and moved to Georgia during her childhood.
She earned her undergraduate degree with the highest honor in Chemistry at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She received a scholarship to study medicine from the United States Navy and earned her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine. After an internship, she served for four years as a General Medical Officer at the Parris Island Marine Corps Training Depot in South Carolina.
Dr. Larrimore completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology while serving in the Navy at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia, where she remained for three additional years as a faculty member. She is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Larrimore founded Covington Women’s Health Specialists in 2004 when the practice was known as Cathy T. Larrimore, MD and Associates. Since then, the practice has grown with the community she and her team serves.
Her areas of interest include minimally invasive surgery, treatment of fibroids, menopausal medicine, and infertility.
Dr. Larrimore is an adjunct faculty member of Obstetrics and Gynecology for Augusta University and the University of Georgia Medical Partnership, teaching future physicians. She also mentors and instructs advanced practice nursing students, nurse practitioners and midwifery students.
Outside of work, she enjoys growing and propagating trees, flowers, and shrubs. She also takes care of her horses, goats, cows, dogs, and cats. Dr. Larrimore also enjoys participating in local charitable events and supporting the Newton County Arts Association.
