Jessie L. Bender, DO was mentored by a urogynecologist and became well-versed in the treatments for female incontinence. During her residency, she performed additional training on the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System.
Today, Dr. Bender performs robotic surgery at Piedmont Walton Hospital. Her areas of interest include minimally invasive and robotic surgery and treatment for urinary incontinence and infertility. Dr. Bender received her Focused Practice Designation in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) in 2023.
Dr. Bender is an adjunct faculty member of Obstetrics and Gynecology for Augusta University and the University of Georgia Medical Partnership, teaching future physicians. She also mentors and instructs advanced practice nursing students, nurse practitioners, and midwifery students.
She is a founding board member of the Newton Pregnancy Resource Center and now serves as their medical director.
Dr. Bender moved to Covington in 2014 to join Covington Women’s Health Specialists. She lives with her husband, daughter, and son. An avid pet lover, she has two dogs and two cats.
Outside of work, she enjoys riding her Peloton bike, meditating, and walking in the town square with her children. She also enjoys being a part of her local non-profits, such as the Newton County Arts Association.
